Very soon, we will make public here a homogeneous compilation
of HI spectral parameters extracted from
global 21 cm line spectra for some 9000 galaxies in
the local universe (heliocentric velocity -200 < V < 28,000 km/s)
obtained with a variety of large single dish radio telescopes but
reanalyzed using a single set of parameter extraction
algorithms. The database will contain (a) a catalog of HI parameters
(systemic velocities, integrated HI line fluxes and full widths),
plots of the HI spectra, and the digital spectra themselves.
Subsets of the database can be extracted using VO technology and utilites.
The catalog itself is available in text files with formatting information at
http://egg.astro.cornell.edu/hiarchive/ and a paper describing
the archive, its preparation and contents will appear
soon in the Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series (Springob, Haynes, Giovanelli
and Kent, 2005).
We are already able to provide small subsets of the data, as time permits,
to individual researchers requesting them. If you have such a request, please
contact Martha Haynes.
