Undergraduate ALFALFA Workshop
January 11-13, 2010
Workshop Target Drifts
- Visit the
summary of upcoming observing page for updated schedules.
- As of Oct 5, two target drifts are listed:
M 11Jan 84p1 +201906 from AST 01h45-07h15
T 12Jan 82p1 +194954 from AST 01h45-07h15
- Do these
exercises to calculate parameters for our observations.
- Use the links below to access the Cornell HI archive, NED Advanced All Sky Survey, and Goldmine to search for possible sources within the RA and DEC ranges covered by our observations. Hint: you should find a rich group of galaxies called NRGb 177 in the +201906 drift. (NRGb 177 is the name assigned by the RASSCALS X-ray survey. )

Proposal writing documents
- The A2010 page at NAIC.
This is a good place to look for information on what has been observed already,
and you'll also find useful things like the "Master List of Drift Declination
Assignments".
- A skeletal LaTeX file.
- AO
telescope schedules.
- NAIC
proposal instructions. We will not follow this 100%. Most notably,
you won't submit the proposal and it won't be refereed!
